Warren Swaine Biography

Warren was born in Cornwall in 1963, grew up in Gosport and went to Portsmouth Polytechnic where he picked up a degree in Computer Science as well as extensive experience working in sound and lighting.

After college he joined ICL (now Fujitsu) and 15 years ago he moved to Reading, working as an IT Consultant. He has lived in Katesgrove for 11 of them. He is a committee member of the Katesgrove Residents Association and a member of the trade union Unite.

He is a big fan of comedy and music and has been regularly attending Reading Festival since 1987. He can play the guitar badly. In his spare time he edits his own satirical football fanzine and is a long time contributor to The Gooner. He also likes to make sure his cat Matilda keeps her website up to date.

He is currently active on the Civic Board, the Arts Forum, the Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education and the Culture and Sport Scrutiny Committee. Warren is the Reading Lib Dem Group’s spokesperson on Resources and Finance.
