Working for Redlands all year round

Cllr Daisy Benson and local campaigner Joe Edwards visited the Upin Arms pub on Cemetery Junction after campaigning from residents and the Lib Dem team.

As a result the pub company looked at the anti-social behaviour issues around the pub. After assessing the results they have spent £10,000 on extra security and CCTV.

Well done we say!

Action in other areas includes...

Eastern Avenue – got the Council to refresh all the single yellow lines in the coming months

Supporting residents in Morton Court suffering from anti-social behaviour

Donnington Gardens – got the Council to add it to the list of road resurfacing for 2007

Blenheim Road and Newcastle Road lighting – pressed the Council to fix a faulty column and damaged one way sign

The Mount - reported damage to the entrance and to the pavement of Lower Mount. This should be looked at shortly.

Elmhurst Road University Hotel Planning Application – Daisy has supported residents of who fear increased pressure on parking.

Redlands RoadJoe Edwards got the Council to sort out the mess left by Southern Electric which left unfinished works blocking the pavement

Hexham Road - reported cases of flytipping and graffiti on the Hexham Road estate.
